Beginners fishing guide

Baits

When trying to catch your first fish it is important that you use the right bait depending on where you are fishing and what fish are in the waters will heavily depend on the bait you use eg: if you are fishing in a lake or bank fishing the most common types of fish are carp and Mira carp, these fish are attracted to most bait including Boilies and Hemp.

Where to fish

This all depends on the type of fish you want to catch,if you want to catch Carp and Mira carp it is best to go bank fishing or fishing on a lake, where as if you want to catch salmon it is best to fish along a water stream where the salmon will be. If you want to catch bigger fish like sharks your best bet would be sea fishing or boat fishing. Often when people fish in lakes they often use a floatie ,this is a little circle that floats on the water above the bait this will let the person know if they either caught a fish or got a bite, though most people resort to using bite alarms for a more accurate reading, using a floatie might not be a bad idea if it is your first time fishing.

Gear and equipment.

The most important equipment would have to be bait and the rod/reel combo that you are using you may also want to take a tent with you in case you are overnight fishing somewhere although it isn’t an essential. It doesn’t really matter what rod/reel combo you have,it doesn’t have to be expensive , most rod/reel combos over £100 are just the same as the cheaper ones, they all do the same thing.
